I have been tracking release of this bone conduction Bluetooth headset ever since Motorola purchased the rights to the device from Next Link a year and a half ago. I have tried many other products on the market and this is my personal favorite, beating out
Jawbone Prime by a hair. I find the in-ear fit of the Motorola to be deeper in the ear canal and more secure than Jawbone and therefore more to my liking. Jawbone noise reduction is probably better than Chrystal Talk, but I could not get enough of a secure fit with the Jawbone. I tried using a Jabra gel on the Jawbone and this provided the best fit of the Jawbone to my ear, but it was still somewhat makeshift; this arrangement without an ear loop meant that the Jawbone was not always in contact with my cheek, which defeats the noise reduction function. Regarding the Stealth Mode of the Motorola, which of course was the tantalizing feature that they purchased from Next Link: I am pleased with it’s function, but it is not a replacement for an audio pickup. It is great when in a particularly noisy environment that would otherwise make communication impossible (inside a Starbucks, for example, or in a noisy environment like a subway, or other environment with sharp background sounds). In this case a Jawbone Prime may out perform the Motorola, if one finds the Jawbone a comfortable fit. My wife, for example does not like an inner ear canal fit and therefore prefers the Jawbone.
If one is knows that they will be taking a call in a noisy environment that might require use of the Stealth Mode of the Motorola, then I would advise initiating the call and switching into the Stealth Mode before the other party answers. In this way they will not be comparing the quality of the sound to the audio pickup, and there is a greater likelihood that they will be more tolerant of the quality of the sound of your voice. All of the other reviews comment on the “slightly muffled” or “slightly garbled” quality associated with Stealth Mode. They are correct. Recall that it was developed for combat situations where conversation via audio pickup would be completely impossible. In these extremely noisy environments, Stealth Mode is a plus. The key is to have realistic expectations. If the outer ear placement works for you, go with a Jawbone. If you prefer a secure inner ear canal placement, try the Motorola.
Regarding battery life, the Motorola requires charging on a daily basis. The Jawbone can go longer: a couple of days with heavy use.

The earpiece fits well and securely, even in my small ear, but the sound quality is very bad. Voices come through with a very “tin-y” sound. It’s as if the treble is turned up all the way and there’s no bass to balance it out. When I turn the volume up so that I can hear when I’m driving, etc., it hurts my ear. People on the other end say that I sound clear and there is very little background noise, but I can’t stand the way it sounds in my ear. Would not recommend to anyone with sensitive ears.

This is the best noise canceling headset to date.
Before this one, there were only a handful of manufacturers that effectively had noise canceling technology.
The majority used two mics, and the jawbone used a mic and a touch sensor mic.
Before this unit, the jawbone was the headset to buy. It was flawless as long as it touched your cheek.
But now, this unit is far above the rest. The dual mic normal mode works for just about every environment to a point. I had a a stereo blaring and the noise cancelling reduced it to tiny background noise. You could still hear it, but your voice was way out in the forefront of the signal. Typical office, and street environments are also pretty good.
Now when you turn on the Bone mic (They call it stealth technology), only the vibrations are picked up by the unit, deep from inside your ear. This effectively only sends your voice and thats it, no matter how loud things are. I had to put my cheek right up against my speakers to get any background noise, which suggests the vibrations were coming through my head. That would never happen in real life.
The transfer of bone vibrations into real voice is highly accurate. I sounded like myself, perfectly clear, and loud. People understood what I said and could clearly define it was me. The only difference was that there was clearly the upper limit of audio spectrum missing. 13khz and above. So it sounded like I had the treble turned way down. But darn if it wasnt superbly clear and quite.
This is the best purchase you can make.

This headset is crystal clear. Everyone can hear me perfectly. Not as good in “stealth mode”, but still acceptable for what it would be in 40 mph winds. That being said, the ability to make stealth mode possible requires the headset to be so far into your ear, it can be painful.
This is a problem for some.

The HX1 Endeavor works well after my problems with the first one I got as a gift for Christmas. 25% of the calls were fine the other 75% the people couldn’t hear me.
Once I got it replaced under warranty, this unit works great without a hitch!
One thing they should have added is caller id name announcement when receiving a call. Funny, my other phone had that feature & it worked with a wired headset.
So I have had this unit for 3 months now, & I am happy with it.
My Son payed $ 136.00 for it from Sprint with a discount, the price Amazon is charging right now @ $96. & change is a bargain + free shipping.
